Phnom Penh Teacher Education College (PTEC) delivers high-quality teacher training, research, and blended learning programs to support Cambodia’s education reform and professional development. Education plays a critical role in developing human capital to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving, knowledge-based global economy. In alignment with Cambodia’s national strategic development plans, education law, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4), the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) is committed to ensuring inclusive, equitable, and quality education for all. As part of comprehensive education reforms, MoEYS prioritizes teacher quality as a key pillar for improving student learning outcomes. PTEC was established in 2017 through the integration of Phnom Penh Regional Teacher Training Center and Phnom Penh Municipality Teacher Training Center, with support from JICA under the E-TEC project. The institution provides pre-service and in-service teacher training programs (12+4), conducts educational research, and develops innovative digital learning systems, including Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programs. PTEC Cambodia offers bachelor-level education programs, professional training, and modern teaching solutions to enhance teaching quality, strengthen educational capacity, and contribute to Cambodia’s vision of becoming an upper middle-income country by 2030 and a developed nation by 2050.
