Outside of New York City, Phoenix is home to the largest Bucharian Jewish community in the United States and there is an estimated 500 Bucharian families. In 2003, the Phoenix Community Kollel assisted with bringing Rabbi Baruch Cohen to Phoenix to serve the Bucharian Jewish community, which he has done for the past 14 years. The Shul is located within the Phoenix eruv â which allows for observant Jews to carry on Shabbat. Many community life-cycle events and holiday celebrations are held at the facility on Glendale Avenue
