This project will be focused on overcoming the difficulties that the personnel in charge of public procurement procedures may have to include environmentally oriented clauses in public tenders, due to their possibly limited urban furniture knowledge and the lack of available standard objective criteria. FUTURE project aims to provide a tool for helping users to understand the criteria of GPP, assisting in the selection of the best solutions in terms of GPP, and encouraging public bodies to include green procurement clauses based on the tool results in their public tenders. The GUF Tool developed will be based on the methodology of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). FUTURE project will study different elements of urban furniture, focusing on two elements of different categories selected as demonstrators for validating the functionality of the tool. Moreover, the tool will be used by public bodies for real-life procurement processes during the project in order to demonstrate its effectiveness and practical applicability for GPP. FUTURE is a 'demonstration' project because it demonstrates the real use of a tool to test the best green purchase option in terms of minimizing the environmental impacts. The objectives of this project are fully aligned with LIFE priority area âEnvironment & Resource Efficiencyâ; specifically, the project addresses the thematic priority for âResource Efficiency, green and circular economyâ.
