Membrane

The membrane envelopes and connects. It enables exchange between individual groups of a bigger organism. We think of this bigger organism as art itself and in order for it to overlap with our everyday life, it needs to grow beyond it’s own borders. In the event of an imbalance or lack of nourishment the membrane will open up and function as a conductor between the interior and exterior environment. We hope to revoke society’s and art’s alienation by collecting as many of their cells to each other as possible. We believe in the transformative potential of d14 as an institution and in ourselves. For this exchange to happen we are searching for molecules of content to transport it to it’s addressants. We will visualize and materialize this communication in the form of a printed magazine, for everyone to contribute in. For the time of the documenta14 the magazine will extend into the physical offspace of Stellwerk in Kassel.
