Description
Provincetown artist Susan Lyman makes sculpture in wood evoking the body in nature, the gathered elements of sapling, root, trunk, and vine seamlessly juxtaposed and animated into sensuous hybrid relationships. She also makes collages and paintings in oil on board of strange fruits and vegetables, and other oddities found in nature from the microscopic to the macroscopic. The forms are drawn image upon image, then nudged into surreal landscapes whose unlikely inhabitants are the stuff of her sculpture.
