Description
In the aftermath of her sinking the Titanic's owners contracted four vessels to search for bodies in the seas where she sank. 328 bodies were recovered, with 209 were returned to shore. 150 were buried in Halifax and the rest repatriated to relatives around the world. At the same time commemorative memorials - buildings, plaques, portraits, statues and tablets - were commissioned. Memorials have continued to be unveiled to this day, with many commemorating the 2012 centenary of the sinking of the Titanic. This website tells the story of the memorials and graves for Titanic's passenger and crew, and the sites and monuments around the world that are part of the Titanic's story.
