This new series is called HELLO KITTY MEETS HIROSHIGE. Iconic Japanese figure, Hello Kitty (1974-present), ventures into the landscapes of block print artist Hiroshige (1797-1841) to see what Japan looked like 200 years ago. These seven acrylic and ink canvases of various sizes are inspired by Hiroshige’s 9 by 13 inch prints. My intention as an artist is to have fun.
